Working principle of multi contact molding machine from Bestech

The multi contact molding machine uses air pressure or hydraulic pressure to apply pressure on the molding sand in the sand box through the indenter or pattern to compact the molding sand. High pressure molding machine appeared in the early 1950s, and the pressure on the sand mold surface was above 0.7 MPa. The pressure is generally 0.25-0.4 MPa. This molding machine makes the sand mold far away from the pressure surface have poor compactness.

The indenter of high pressure molding machine is divided into flat indenter, forming indenter and multi contact indenter. Among them, the high-voltage multi contact molding machine is the most widely used. The indenter of the high-pressure multi contact molding machine is divided into many small square contacts that can move up and down, and great compaction force can be obtained through the hydraulic cylinder.

During compaction, each contact shall exert corresponding pressure according to the height of the pattern below it (i.e. the thickness of the sand layer under pressure) to make the sand mold obtain high and uniform compactness and hardness. This type of molding machine is equipped with a micro shock mechanism, which can adapt to the modeling of complex patterns.
